AKA’s family praised for mourning with Nadia Nakai.
Mzansi rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, popularly known as AKA, was killed last week Friday, 10 February; the Forbes family held a press briefing at Rockets in Bryanston, Johannesburg, on Tuesday, 14 February, where the late rapper’s girlfriend was seen mourning the tragic loss of her boyfriend with his family.
According to IOL, AKA and his girlfriend Nadia Nakai began dating in secret in 2021 and formally announced their relationship in 2022.

They had no children together, nor were they married. Nadia Nakai was welcomed to grieve with AKA’s family when the rapper passed away, though.
She was seen yesterday during the family of AKA’s news conference. During the briefing yesterday, the rapper’s mother Lynn, brother Steffan, and father Tony were all present.
In the briefing’s social media videos, Lynn and AKA’s girlfriend can be seen walking inside Rockets while holding hands.
The videos also showed Nadia Nakia and AKA’s mother crying and later sobbing together while seated.
Netizens were moved by the Forbes family’s treatment to Nadia Nakai after watching the press conference recordings. They wanted that more in-laws and African cultures would exhibit the same kindness as AKA’s mother and the rest of the family.

“If your boyfriend’s mom loves you like even when he passed on, you are blessed. This is very rare in black families,” @Moratoa said.
“Every man needs a mother like Lynn; this woman supported his son throughout. She’s a real woman who understands the pain of losing your partner; others would have been adding salt in the wound doing things that would delay healing for everyone,” @Deleka_ka_staze wrote.
