“In the beginning, he had not accepted that he will be serving time but now he is at peace and paying his dues. He is involved in projects and keeping himself busy and he has not stopped making music.
“He has changed. He listens to more gospel music and started making gospel. He also sings in the choir; he has always been a good singer outside of kwaito and rapping. He will always be a kwaito artist, but the gospel has kept him sane and thinking positively. His faith has improved, and he is wise and a spiritual guy. That is the Sipho that we all grew up with before the fame.”

Brickz was convicted of r@ping his 16-year-old niece in his Ruimsig house in 2013. Since the girl was a virgin and in great pain at the time of the incident, her hymen broke and she bled profusely.
After the s*xual incident, Brickz advised the woman to take a bath, and he threatened to kill her if she told anyone. He added that the victim was unaware that she had contracted a sexually transmitted disease.
The young girl’s family rejoiced that justice was served because their daughter had been contemplating suicide. It was then discovered that the Kwaito musician was not sorry and would not extend an apology to the family.
