On Florida Road in Durban, the rapper and his companion Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane were shot and killed in February.

Lynn opened up about how she delivered the heartbreaking news of AKA’s death to his daughter Kairo Forbes in an exclusive interview on eNCA’s News Night.
She is sad because the 7-year-old was close to his father.
According to Lynn, she was given the difficult task of telling Kairo the devastating news that her father had passed away.
She said: “I told her that we have some really sad news…Your dad died”.
Lynn said Kairo asked her what happened to his father. She continued to explain, “I said some bad people hurt him….they shot him. She cried terribly”.
Lynn continued, “She asked: ‘But, he’s coming back, right? He will be ok. And I had to tell her, ‘No, he’s not coming back, and we have to bury him.
In an interview with City Press, Lynn Forbes discussed the murder of AKA. The distraught mother asked the perpetrators how they were feeling after carrying out such a horrendous act on a father and a brother.
Lynn revealed that she sometimes thinks about the people who planned her son’s murder.
“He didn’t just die. Someone planned his death,” she said. “Are they happy? Do they regret it? Are they laughing about it? Do they think they made a mistake or are they glad they finally did it?”
“If I did that, it would swallow me up as a person. I’m not God and I can’t point a finger at anyone. I just wonder how and why everything happened. But what do I know? I’m just a mother?” she told the publication.
A couple of weeks ago, the Forbes family issued a statement warning the public of peddling unverified reports surrounding the murder probe of the late rapper.
They also made mention of scammers posing as the Forbes family trying to get money from people.
“We are at a loss for words to describe our gratitude for the outpouring of love that we’ve received from the Megacy. We’ve seen people deeply hurt and angered by Kiernan murder and wanting justice. As a family, we empathize with the grief experienced and we understand your pain,” the statement reads.
“We are aware of the growing public discontent related to the progress which has been made in the investigation. However, as a family, we are deeply concerned that irresponsible actions, accusations and assumptions may cause more harm than good,” the family Continued.
“At this time, we call on the Megacy to mourn responsibly and ask for patience so that the law enforcers have the space to do their job. We humbly request that you continue celebrating Kiernan’s life, preserve his memory and continue his legacy through his music. Your joyous celebration of his life gives us comfort. ”
The family has also been alerted of scammers posing as the family “Lastly, we would like to bring to your attention that there are false requests for donations and investments from people posing as members of the Forbes family. We have not opened any donation accounts or requested investments,” she added.
