4 children from same family killed in Boksburg blast.
After a gas tanker explosion on Saturday near Boksburg killed 15 lives, families are now picking up the pieces.
Four children from one family perished in the incident.
According to Jan Brits, the motorist who caused the explosion should be locked up.
“The mother of the kids is not doing good. She’s in pain. My wife and I are not coping.
“When it happened we were surprised. We asked what the tanker was doing here,” he said.
William Ntladi from the Ekurhuleni EMS said security has been beefed up at the scene of the explosion.
“We are making sure people are not moving in and around because of the rigidity and instability of the structures,” Ntladi said.
“Together with the SAPS, EMPD and Prasa security we will make sure we keep this [scene] secured throughout the day up until everything is cleared up.”
Police detained the driver, 32, on Sunday.
On Wednesday, the defendant, who is charged with multiple counts of culpable homicide, is anticipated in court.
