DJ Mark Pilgrim has been discharged from hospital.
Mark Pilgrim, a well-known DJ, has been discharged from the hospital after 64 days and is continuing his valiant fight against cancer. On Thursday, the Hot102.7fm radio DJ posted an update on social media.
The 53-year-old, who has previously worked at 5FM, 94.7 Highveld Stereo, 94.5 Kfm, and Hot919, said on social media that he was leaving hospital “after 64 days, 7 surgeries, and over 15kg lost.”
After receiving a stage 4 lung cancer diagnosis, Pilgrim announced in June that the disease had progressed to his femur, the base of his spine, and lymph nodes.
Pilgrim wrote: “After 64 days, 7 procedures and losing almost 15kg, today… I go home!
“Still have a tube coming out my side and will have a home nurse looking after me as I slowly build my strength, but nothing beats the healing power of being home with loved ones, doggies, the fresh air and garden
