Sello Maake kaNcube speaks out after being insulted by singer Zandie Khumalo. This week, Kelly Khumalo’s sister Zandi attacked renowned actor Sello Maake KaNcube on Twitter as he was only stating his opinions. The actor felt for the Meyiwa family because he lost a kid in a vehicle accident in 2011. But it appears that Zandi took exception to his message. She started hurling slurs at the actor without holding back.
The Senzo Meyiwa was again postponed this week after Zandi, who was among those in the home when the soccer star was shot, filed a request to prevent live media coverage of her testimony. It was decided that her visual testimony should not be shown, but her audio could be recorded.
The award-winning actor told ZiMoja that he always uses wisdom when reading or before making comments, whether they are about him or a total stranger.
“I try to exercise emotional intelligence when I read anything on social media or any publication for that matter. Upon reading her post, I felt more sorry for her than angry, ” says Sello adding that it is not his responsibility to go around reprimanding ill-disciplined children, hence he decided to ignore her.
“I’m not one to reprimand other people’s children, that’s a job for their parents. As parents all we can do is try raise our children the best way we know how but that doesn’t mean we must be held accountable for how they turnout or behave in society at large,” he adds.

Sello says he has never met Zandi and does not think their paths will cross. “I don’t know the lady in question. My tweet was more emphatic towards the Meyiwa family as whole.”
Sello makes the observation that, rather than ensuring that they exhaust all possible avenues in this case, our legal system appears to be doing more damage to the Meyiwa family.
“Our nation and society is wounded and criminals seem to be in control and we are practically held hostage as a country,” he concludes
